My Dear Leeds
Yours of 16th came to hand this day
by John Turner, and I am glad to hear you
have again got well and hearty. I am also glad
to see that you improve in your writing
very much. by taking a little pains and keeping
good pens + paper you will arrive at perfection
I am surprised Goldsmith has not recd. any
money. tell him to assure them that a suit will
be brought if they dont pay. I will send
him the Bond before March Court. I think
they will pay without a suit which will
be better for me -- I am glad to find you
are a favorite at the Governors. and that he
is so kind to you -- Cultivate such acquantance
as him -- and others which you now visit.

and it will make you respected by others;
I went over to Cambridge with Sophia last Friday
to Ball, and left her there -- your mother goes
over on thursday to bring her Home next Monday
She is in the midst of Gaiety, there Nothing
but parties every day. I suppose you
will hardly leave Annapolis this [Xmass] --
but if you wish to go to Baltimore a few days
with Robert. G. I have no Objection. David
is now at home and will be grown very much
I have not heard from [Branch] since I left
Annapolis -- pray did you receive a letter by
John Needles from Sophia she wrote you
by him -- and you ought to Answer it by some
safe [Opp.y]. which you will have by the
Assembly men -- nothing new here -- Our [Comp.s]
to any who enquires for us. -- and I am your
