An article in the Evening Capital (June 7, 1955) describes the event: "In the barrel rolling relay, a relay of teams proceeded to a marker by rolling 55-gallon drums under their feet. Champions in this event were the seniors represented by Mrs. [Joan] McKay, Priscilla Husted, Donald Phillips and Hudson Keithly."
