An article in the Evening Capital (June 7, 1955) describes the contest: "[The] Theologico-Balance-O Contest [was] a philosophical-theological contest in which competitors endeavored to balance the Bible against a volume of Aristotle in the shortest possible time. The judge placed one book on a see-saw and [at] a given time the contestant placed the other. Mrs. Joan McKay, representing the seniors, bested Phillip Sutton of the juniors by a narrow margin of 1.25 seconds."
